The BEENetwork has been established in mid-2008, following the successful finalisation of the BSR Interreg III B project "BEEN".
Due to the high significance of the topic ‘energy efficiency (EE) in residential buildings’ on European and national level, the participants of the BEEN project committed themselves to continue the communication and exchange on all related issues. The maintenance of the BEENetwork, and the exchange of knowledge and experiences with regard to new approaches and strategies for energy efficiency (EE) in buildings contributes to the realisation of their national and local targets in the field of EE in residential buildings.
The further continuation of the network is based on a "Declaration on further continuation of the BEENetwork", which has been signed by the BEEN partners. The continuation is supported by the Lead Partner of the BEEN project, the Senate Department for Urban Development, Berlin. The BEEN project coordinator IWO e.V. took over the coordination of the BEENetwork, including online administration of this website.
New members that would like to support energy efficiency in the Baltic building stock are welcome to join the network. Please contact us
